MORE INFORMATION TO FOLLOW
Meetings are at 2pm on the second Monday of the month – permanent venue still to be confirmed.
As a WI member, you will enjoy a varied programme. Every member can contribute ideas to the annual programme of speakers, activities and events – the options are only limited by your imagination! Each WI holds eleven meetings every year and you can also get involved in the various regional and national level events and activities. You’re sure to find something that interests you!
Your membership entitles you to eight copies a year of the WI membership magazine, WI Life, as well as regular newsletters and mailings to keep you up-to-date with all the news and events from your federation (a small charge may apply) and the NFWI.
Formed in 1915, the Women’s Institute was originally brought to life to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation’s aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK.
